Mr Dean Blackwell 2nd Dan Black Belt.

Name: Dean Blackwell
Age: 21
Experience: 13 Years in October
Teaching: Since Feb 2002 (Was youngest instructor in country)
How Did I Get Started?
It started many moons ago when I was 8 years old and my brother
and I were being bullied. We were taken to the North Bridge Leisure
Centre in Halifax to watch a martial arts class conducted by Master
Joseph Tang. Then my father asked if we were interested in starting
up, we said yes and the rest is now history as they say.
What does T.S.D mean to me?
As an instructor, Tang Soo Do gives me the chance to see people
grow physically and mentally, and mature in and out of the Do
Jang. I also get the chance to give something back to the style
that opened so many doors for me. It also means I can make people
feel good and confident in whatever they do.
What makes my class different to others?
My classes have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where people
train hard and play hard. Teaching the traditional side to Tang
Soo Do I also incorporate many different styles into my teachings
as well. All members love the challange each training session
brings as there is so much to gain physically and mentally.
What I feel others can get out of learning
Tang Soo Do? (generally)
Self confidence, self respect, fitness, respect for others, good
health, positive mind and outlook on life, friendship, flexibility,
agility, suppleness, a great social life.
